International Day - Friday 28th October
We would like to thank everyone who came along to the International Day Food Festival today. It was wonderful to see the whole community come together to celebrate the different countries and cultures that make up our school. A special thank you to the Parents’ Guild and the hundreds of parent volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the day such a great success. Photos of the event will follow shortly.
Halloween - 31st October
We would like to invite all of our students to join in some fun on Monday 31st October by dressing up in a 'Halloween' fancy dress costume, or a costume that follows a 'black and orange' theme if preferred.
Please note that costumes should be suitable for a school environment with young children, and should not include masks or weapons. Junior School students are asked not to wear face paint, due to the mess that this can cause throughout the day.
We look forward to seeing some spooktacular students!
Instrumental Music Programme recitals
Instrumental Music Programme recitals are planned for the 16th and 17th November at 4.30pm on both days for the Junior School and 6pm on the 17th November for Senior School. If your child is receiving instrumental lessons in school with our IMP team, their teacher will communicate directly with you if your child is performing. More details regarding tickets will be communicated next week as parents of the performers will have priority booking via event brite.
Student Leadership Programme
For the purpose of providing guidance and support to Senior School students in positions of leadership and responsibility, as well as for students who wish to gain a greater understanding of what leadership entails, the school is developing a programme that will focus on the skills and qualities that support successful leadership.
We are eager to include a number of guest speakers for these sessions and to utilise the vast experiences and knowledge of our parent body in order to guide and inspire our students.
We are aiming for sessions to last approximately 15 - 30 minutes, followed by an activity and Q&A.
If you would like to contribute to the programme, could we ask that you please complete the form here and Mr Abbate (Assistant Principal Pastoral) will contact you in the near future.
Thank you.

If you have children in multiple Grades, you may attend multiple workshops, as each one will be tailored to specific age groups and Curriculum content.

Maths Week request for Parent Volunteers
In the week beginning 21st November, we will be hosting the annual NLCS Mathematics Week. We will be running a variety of different events throughout the week and more details about this will be coming out soon. One of the events we would like to run is having people from our community who work in a mathematical field - with a particular focus on women who work in mathematics - to come and talk to our students about how to apply mathematical concepts and thinking to everyday careers. Therefore, if you are someone who works in a mathematical field (such as banking, finance, engineering, research, etc) and would be available to come and talk to some of our students, then please do email Miss Dean, our Junior School Mathematics coordinator, (hdean@nlcssingapore.sg) so we can arrange either an in-person or online talk as appropriate.
Many thanks in advance.
