'Go Green for Pakistan' Red Cross Appeal

This week saw the launch of the ‘Go Green for Pakistan’ appeal at NLCS Singapore. The campaign is fundraising for The Red Cross appeal, to assist in relief and recovery operations in aid of the survivors from the Pakistan floods.

We encourage all members of the NLCS community to take part and make an environmental change this month. Participants could walk to school, use less energy or go plastic free. Whatever the act, Go GREEN for Pakistan. For more information on the campaign, click here. Remember to share your efforts with the NLCS Community by sending in a photo of you enacting environmental change for Pakistan to this form.

Parents Guild - International Food Festival

Please join us at our first International Food Festival event planned in the afternoon of Friday, 28 October. The event will be held at the School to mark the UN Day in the same week. This event will consist of food stalls representing various countries. The proceeds from this event will go to the Red Cross to support Go Green for Pakistan led by DepotAid.

If you are a keen chef and interested in showcasing the cuisine of your home country please register here. Please note that NLCS (Singapore) has a strict no nuts policy.

To new families - we have been working on publishing a recipe book that contains secret family recipes to guides on hidden gem local restaurants, written by our very own NLCS families. The process started last term however it is still possible to participate. If you would like to contribute information and/or photography (including perhaps pictures of you and your family preparing your favourite dish) please sign up here by 26 September 2022. If you have previously signed up, no further action is required. The proceeds from the book sales will be donated to a local food bank charity.

Join us to celebrate the diversity of our community at NLCS!

Pick up and Drop off

Whilst we know that drop off and pick up times can be challenging and no two days are ever the same at a school, our staff are always here to help and support you where they can. However we must stress that rudeness to our staff at any time, whether in person, by email or phone cannot be accepted or tolerated. We are here to support you and your child and would ask that our staff are treated in the same manner you expect to be treated.

Work at NLCS (Singapore)

We have some employment vacancies at the school. Some may interest our parents or your wider network. Please visit the NLCS CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES page for more information and details of current vacancies.

"Go Green for Pakistan"

Please contribute to this meaningful cause and Go Green for Pakistan!

On Friday 30th September we are fundraising for Go Green for Pakistan, in aid of the Red Cross Appeal. Students should bring a named envelope containing a minimum donation of $2 dollars to wear the colour green. This will be collected by home room teachers in the morning.

Please also send in photos of your child doing something environmentally friendly, such as taking public transport or recycling plastic bottles in this form. The photos will be displayed on the screen in the foyer. Each action works to reduce the carbon footprint of our school community.

National Poetry Day

On Wednesday 5th October, the Junior School is pleased to host an Open Mic event for Junior School students to launch an early celebration of National Poetry Day. The Open Mic event will be available at lunch time (12:15-1:00pm) in the amphitheatre and we encourage students to read or recite a poem of their choice in any language to celebrate all things poetry! As this is during lunchtime, this event is optional for Junior School students, however we hope to encourage as many students as possible to celebrate a love of language with us either by performing or listening to the spoken word.

We look forward to celebrating with our students!

Any questions, please contact Mrs Parratt at kparratt@nlcssingapore.sg

The next event will be the Poetry Out Loud Competition where the competition is sure to heat up. For more details on Senior School house Competitions, click here.
