Outline of Event

This is a fast-paced maths competition where students will work as part of a team to solve intriguing mathematical problems. The competition will take the form of a relay race in which each member of their team passes along their answers to the next person so that the team can complete the challenge.

Each house will need 12 members to participate and form 3 teams of 4 students:

2 x Grade 6 and 2 x Grade 7 will form a team of 4.

2 x Grade 8 and 2 x Grade 9 will form a team of 4.

2 x Grade 10 and 1 x Grade 11 and 1x Grade 12 will form a team of 4.

There will be 4 relay races in total. Points will be awarded for the accuracy of solutions and bonus points will be awarded for the fastest teams.

Rules and Timings

 Each of the 4 relay rounds will last 10 minutes.

Specific round rules will be detailed by Mrs Malone at the start of the event.

Scoring

Each team will be awarded points for the accuracy of their solutions and there will be bonus points for the fastest team in each round.
