New technologies are changing the way children learn.  The internet and digital tools are providing new learning experiences and every child deserves safe access to them.  Within class, and alongside their teacher/s, students have been guided through an age appropriate AUA and asked to be aware of their responsibilities in supporting North London Collegiate School (Singapore) create a safe environment with regards to the use of technology.

This Aims of this AUA are:

● To ensure that children use digital tools effectively and responsibly

● To ensure that children are safe when using digital tools

● To ensure that the schools ICT equipment is well treated and safe

● To ensure that the school’s ICT network is safe, secure and functioning effectively

● To ensure that parents are aware of the importance of e-safety

● To ensure that parents are engaged with educating their children about online behaviour

School Commitment:

The school will ensure that all students have access to ICT that is appropriate for their age and that enhances their learning.

Student Commitment:

The students must agree to be responsible users of digital technology. 

Parent Commitment:

Parents are required to name and date the permission form below to show their support for the school in this important aspect.

    ● I understand that the school will take every reasonable precaution, including monitoring and filtering systems and content, to ensure that students are safe when they use the internet and ICT systems.  I also understand that the school cannot be held ultimately responsible for the nature and content of materials accessed on the internet or devices.

    ● I understand that my child’s activity on the ICT systems is monitored and that the school will contact me if it has concerns about any possible breaches of the Acceptable Use Agreement (Student).

    ● I will encourage my child to adopt safe habits when using the internet and digital technologies at home and will inform the school if I have concerns over my child’s e-safety.
